Mentors for Children is a professionally organised individual mentoring programme operated by the interregional public organisation Big Brothers Big Sisters Russia.
A trained volunteer mentor supports each child, while programme professionals provide ongoing guidance to the mentoring pair.
The programme has operated in Moscow since 2003 and in St Petersburg since 2013.
The social partnership with Cluster VTOA provides a framework for support from interested industrial companies: organisational assistance, career orientation events, company visits and exploration of future educational and employment opportunities.
Selection and training of mentors, safeguarding and professional support of children remain the responsibility of the programme.
