The Cluster is developing the concept of gas-powered energy and EV charging hubs at existing gas-filling sites. The proposed solution combines gas engine generation, battery storage and chargers. A pilot requires a suitable location, gas engine quotations, an agreed system configuration and an investment structure.
Challenge and proposed solution
Industrial challenge: improve the utilisation of existing gas-filling infrastructure and create additional demand for natural gas.
Solution: an autonomous 250, 500 or 1000 kW gas engine system combined with storage and charging.
Next decisions: obtain site data and commercial offers, select a pilot and agree on the business case.

Project initiation and coordination
The Cluster has coordinated the parties and assigned tasks for feasibility work.
Charging systems and energy storage
KRAVT is preparing requirements and a proposal for storage and charging systems.
Sites and technical input
Site locations, technical parameters and constraints are being requested from the infrastructure owner.
Gas engines and maintenance
Supplier quotations and maintenance terms for 250/500/1000 kW units are being gathered; no supplier is appointed.
Investment structure and financing
Investor participation and cost allocation are being considered; no financing commitment is claimed.
Pilot design and installation
After site selection, an engineering and installation contractor will be required.
Project cooperation details are disclosed only as agreed. Commercial terms and nonpublic materials are not displayed.
Project export potential
Potential export applications include gas-powered energy and charging hubs at overseas gas infrastructure sites with local investors and operators.
The Cluster supports demand assessment, partner search, cooperation, product adaptation and overseas market development for Russian technology.
International opportunities for members ↗Public support and funding
Potential capital for equipment and launch; no decision has been made.
To be assessed after site utilisation, costs and cash flows are established.
The support programmes and investment options are evaluated separately for each project. Funding decisions are made by the relevant institutions and investors.
