Development initiative for sealing materials used in wellhead, downhole and subsea equipment. Chemical compatibility and service life must be verified by qualification tests.
Define seal applications, develop candidate compounds, produce samples and qualify them in relevant fluids and operating conditions. The proposed YANTAR-I testing project may offer complementary capabilities.
Project status
Prospective initiative. Prototype, testing and deployment milestones require documentary confirmation. All development stages are planned rather than completed.
Industrial cooperation
The Cluster is identifying suitable engineering, manufacturing, testing and industrial users. Proposals are submitted through the Cluster project cooperation form.
Areas of application and technical verification
The proposed materials target wellhead equipment, downhole tools and subsea sealing assemblies. Compliance with any relevant ISO or NORSOK requirements must be demonstrated rather than assumed.
Planned stages and partnership
Planned work: select specific sealing applications; formulate candidate elastomers; manufacture samples; test thermal, mechanical and chemical resistance; qualify materials with an OEM; prepare production controls.
The YANTAR-I laboratory concept could become a complementary qualification workstream if its capabilities are confirmed.
