How research becomes an industrial product
A promising laboratory technology does not automatically meet industrial requirements. Engineering refinement, reliability verification, prototypes and qualification normally stand between a research result and a serial product.
Oil and gas equipment must meet demanding conditions for pressure, temperature, working media, safety, manufacturability and service support. Manufacturers and potential industrial customers should therefore be involved early.
Universities and research institutions are part of the Cluster’s cooperation system. Their technologies can be matched with industry needs and developed together with engineering bureaux, manufacturing partners, testing organisations and potential investors.
Progress is better assessed by real milestones than by presentations: requirements agreed, partners identified, readiness demonstrated and a practical implementation plan established.
